This caught my eye while I was out for an icy run in Boston, Massachusetts, February 2007. It’s the John Hancock Tower, but so far I am unable to name the statue. Too bad I didn’t also snap the nameplate. Click the pic to enlarge. |

Several years we had a mourning dove nest in the weeping cherry by the front porch. At least one year, the black snake stole the eggs. Click the pic to enlarge. |
Caution, wide load

They moved these things through Fredericksburg in the middle of the night on successive Wednesdays. Every set of traffic lights had to be pulled up higher just to let them pass, but it was for a noble cause. (See this Free Lance-Star link to make it bigger.)
